End of Year 2018
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” – Luke 6:38
Reflecting on the many days behind us as we move into 2019, we thank the Lord for all the gifts he has bestowed upon us throughout the year. The many blessings He has given us cause all to give thanks and rejoice. Now as we think toward the future and set our intentions for the New Year, we must continue to give thanks and grace to God. We must reflect on what that means to us individually and how we can present His will to the world.
We ask that God bless our hands, hearts and souls so that we may better serve Him and others in the coming months. I encourage you to sit down and reflect on your spiritual goals and intentions and give them up to the Lord. Your faith and love for God will grow, as you give it to others. Lord, please hear our prayers.
With so much good granted on us from the Lord, we must also think of others and how we can pay forward the love and gifts He has known to us. How can we truly repay Him for the unfaltering kindness He shows us with each season? We think of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land who face discrimination and struggles living in the birthplace of our Creator because of their faith.
We aim to show kindness to all, and in 2019, we dedicate so many of our intentions to the Christians of the Holy Land. One of the most powerful treasures of God is His ability to speak through us and show us the path of righteousness. As you reflect on what is to come in the New Year, we ask that you consider a donation to the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land so that we may continue to spread the Word of God and carry out His good deeds for our brothers and sisters.
Yours in Christ,
-Fr. Peter F. Vasko, OFM
