Indiana Vision Statement: To build and maintain a vibrant Christian support base in the Indianapolis Region whose compassion creates perpetual spiritual and monetary support to the FFHL.
Indiana Mission Statement: The FFHL Indiana Region is a localized operating arm of the FFHL whose mission it is to expand the knowledge of the importance of continued presence of the Palestinian Christian minorities living in the Holy Land.
Regional Objective: Remain faithful to the Catholic Church and the mission of the FFHL, while strengthening ties between the Indiana Catholic Community and the Family of Christ in the Holy Land.
Dear Holy Land Pilgrims and Friends of the FFHL,
Our Indiana Region of the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land (FHHL) is a vibrant community of people who share a love for the Holy Land and for our Christian brothers and sisters living there. We have generated significant support for the foundation through prayer and financial assistance in hopes that we, collectively, can stem the exodus of Christian families from the Holy Land.
Today, approximately 150,000 Christians live in the Holy Land in a volatile political environment of ethnic distrust and under severe economic hardship. As a result, some 500 marginalized Christian families leave their homes each year. This steady emigration suggests that one day the Christian community and the Christian Church may cease to exist in the birthplace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
At this rate, it is clear that there is much to be done to rebuild our Mother Church. The FFHL provides educational and humanitarian programs and projects that serve as incentives for Christians to remain; and the foundation safeguards basic human rights of the Christian Palestinian minority living in the Holy Land. Our Indiana Region is critical to these efforts, and we have plenty of room for more people to become engaged with our endeavors.
In the next months, there will be multiple pilgrim gatherings. I encourage you to attend and reconnect with your fellow pilgrims. Secondly, I urge you to join us for our Fundraising Gala, which will be held downtown at the J.W. Marriott this coming October 21st. Finally, please consider becoming an active member in our region through your service. You are all valuable assets; and your generous gifts of time, talent and treasure will help us preserve the remnant of the Family of Christ. Should you be inspired to volunteer, please contact me at any time. I’m sure you will find your commitment to our foundation to be spiritually rewarding.
In the Spirit of St. Francis,
INDIANA REGIONAL CORE COMMITTEE
