In a recent interview with the National Catholic Register, Father Peter talks about how the Holy Land has been affected by the novel coronavirus. He explains that while there may always be political divide between the Palestinian Muslims and the Jews, the pandemic has created more cooperation between the two parties. “Now the Palestinians and the Israeli have set up a joint “operations room” to combat the virus,” Father Peter says. While Israel has confirmed 3,500 positive cases of the coronavirus and Palestine with 54, none of their friars have contracted the virus. While the pandemic is reaching the world on a massive and global scale, Father Peter explains that Jerusalem and towns such as Bethlehem and Jericho are indeed safe places to be!
